Dennis :: Drums

Dennis has played drums since an early age. His mom bought him a drum when he was four, and he promptly beat the head through. Formal training started in sixth grade, and he learned to play jazz in seventh grade. He was mentally scarred from his ninth grade teacher yelling at him to get back on "1" during a pep rally in the school gymnasium. (He has since recovered) Most of his non formal drumming was done at high school and college gigs/parties.

Eventually most of his playing gravitated to praise and worship bands at Colonial Presbyterian and then Grace Community Church. Still, Dennis wanted to be involved with a band that sounded more like the influences he grew up with - Led Zeppelin, Yes, Jimi, King Crimson...Floyd...and is happy to be with this band and guys with similiar interests. A lot of his secular interests have turned to progressive bands with more positive influences and a Christian message, such as Glass Hammer, Torman Maxt, or Iona.

Eric :: Bass / Vocals

For years, Eric played in an alternative rock coverband, performing the Kansas City club circuit.  When the band eventually dissolved, he decided to continue his musical outlet by playing in his church's praise and worship band.  In time, he felt the draw to be part of a band whose mission was to spread the gospel to the hurting.  Discussing the possibilities with John and Billy, Doulos was born.

His bent is toward Progressive Rock with influences from artists such as Yes, ABWH, Pink Floyd, Kansas, Genesis, Porcupine Tree, as well as various Alternative Rock artists.

John :: Guitar

Introduced to music by a musician father who played Top 40 music in a band around Southern California, music became a major influence in John's life. He started with drums at age five, progressed to guitar by age 16. Influenced by bands such as Rush, Jethro Tull, Genesis, and Yes, progressive music had an impact on John. Later, he found that music in and of itself didn't fill the voids in his life. John came to faith in Christ at age nine, but wasn't discipled until much later. Now having a better understanding of my relationship with Jesus, his passion is to play music to glorify the One who loved him, and gave His life for him.
